team
Well, somebody had to make this site. Cool ideas don't just materialize out of thin air, and there were too many people bugging us to use AirBed & Breakfast. Here's the brains and creative juices behind the air.

Brian Chesky
co-founder
Brian
Graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design, Brian worked as an industrial designer in Los Angeles before moving to San Francisco to help create the original AirBed & Breakfast. While at RISD, Brian was captain of the RISD Nads hockey team, leading them to a perfect 0-16 season. He instituted The Supportive Cup, and is also co-creator of the school's infamous mascot (who would have been banned from the league, if there was a league). When not sleeping on airbeds, Brian designs products, and is working on a new venture involving human sustainability and social networking. Brian lives and works at the original AB&B in San Francisco. See his profile on AB&B.

Joe Gebbia
co-founder
Joe
Joe is a serial design-trepreneur, focused on projects that simplify life and have a positive impact on the environment. An alumni of the Rhode Island School of Design, Joe spent his time straddling the Industrial Design and Graphic Design departments. He graduated in 5 years with the two resulting BFAs. Complimenting his studio work, he found time to create the most influential college basketball program in the world: the RISD Balls. He spent their first season as coach and captain of a team of 'seriously buff' art students who could dribble (most) and dunk (one). When he's not shooting hoops, he mans Ecolect's west coast office, markets CritBuns, and makes sure AirBed & Breakfast is looking sharp. Joe lives and works from the original AB&B in San Francisco. See his profile on AB&B.

Nathan Blecharczyk
co-founder
Nathan
Nathan Blecharczyk has been writing software and executing his ideas since the age of 12. He graduated from Harvard College in 2005 where he studied computer science. He has worked at Microsoft, OPNET Technologies, and Batiq. His current projects include Identified Hits, MavenTech Consulting, Your Neighbors and Rolodexterous. See his profile on AB&B.

Amol Surve
evangelist
Amol
Amol is a strategic concept designer at the Biodesign Insitute at Arizona State University, where he holds a BArch and M.S. in industrial design. His job perks include a continuous dose of caffeine and use of a Segway on campus, though he doesn't advocate mixing the two. Amol holds the distinguished honor of staying at the original AB&B in October of 2007, and has reunited with the team to help spread the movement.

Kat Jurick
evangelist
Kat
Kat is a bicoastal nomad who is currently based in New England, but is on the road a lot for her job at an interactive consulting agency. She was one of the original AB&B guests way back in October of 2007. She had a fantastic time, and is looking forward to reuniting with the AB&B Crew. See her profile on AB&B.
